I hope that you will rejoice with me in reflecting on the wonderful mission of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I am truly thankful for the life and ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ - our Saviour, Redeemer, Messiah. He came down and became a little baby to learn as we had to learn, to have our nappies changed for us, to be fed, nurtured, loved, helped along the pathway to becoming adults. He devoted His all to you and to me. He continues to devote His all to you and to me. He suffered immeasurably in Gethsemane when He submitted His will to that if His Father, and He bore the pains of our sicknesses and every possible affliction that we will experience - so that He can truly empathise with us when life is tough and the going is hard. He then suffered further scorn, indignity, pain and death on the cross. And the He rose triumphant in the resurrection and showed His disciples that He had a physical body of flesh and bones that He invited them to handle and see - that a spirit hath not flesh and bones as ye see me have. He still has that glorified body and showed Himself to the young man Joseph Smith in 1820, and He continues to show Himself to those whom He calls as He called Moses and Aaron and John the Baptist and Saul of Tarsus. After all, He said 'Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God'. He was not joking. He was not lying. He does allow the pure in heart to see Him. If you and I are pure in heart, we will see Him. I know that. I encourage you to seek to be pure in heart so that you can see Him and not wish for the rocks to fall on you to hide you from His glory, but to look forward with a loving desire to be one with Him in the mansions of His eternal kingdom. That is what He invited us to do.
